A message from our Chair
When people hear “community energy”, they often think about solar panels and wind turbines. While those are certainly part of our work, they are only one piece of a much bigger picture.
Every week I have the privilege of meeting residents, volunteers, community organisations, businesses and public sector partners who are all trying to make our communities stronger, fairer and more resilient.
Some conversations are about rising energy bills. Others are about village halls, schools, housing, local investment or new ideas that have the potential to benefit generations to come.
Community energy isn’t simply about technology. At its heart, it is about people and the places in which we live.
Next week I shall be sharing a story each day showcasing the impact Tendring Community Energy has had on individual members of our community.
They won’t always be about renewable energy. Sometimes they will be about the people we meet, the partnerships we are building, the challenges we face or the lessons we learn along the way.
I hope these reflections give you an insight into the work happening behind the scenes and demonstrate that community energy is ultimately about people.
Thank you for following our journey.
